What is One Less. One More.?

What if the secret to a meaningful, fulfilling life isn’t some grand breakthrough, but a practice so simple you could start it today?

I’m Robbie Vorhaus—trusted advisor to global leaders, crisis whisperer, university lecturer, best-selling author, and lifelong student of what helps us truly thrive. After more than 30 years guiding people, brands, governments, and more, through their most complicated decisions and most transformative moments, I’ve discovered something extraordinary:

The most resilient, grounded, and joyful individuals do two small things daily.

They release one thing that no longer serves them.
And they courageously welcome one thing they feel from their heart.
One Less. One More.

One less self-sabotaging thought, toxic habit, or limiting belief.
One more breath of gratitude, a spark of connection, or an act of bravery.

This isn’t a trend or a 30-day fix. It’s an ancient idea wrapped in modern simplicity—and it works, because it meets you exactly where you are.

Whether you're leading a company, grieving a loss, starting over, or just trying to stay afloat, One Less. One More. is your invitation to reclaim agency, purpose, and joy—one conscious choice at a time.

Here, you'll find real stories from behind the curtain of power, honest insights from the frontlines of leadership, timeless tools, and unfiltered conversations about what happiness truly requires. You'll also hear from global changemakers, rising voices, and everyday heroes doing the work.

And beginning soon, I’ll be serializing the updated second edition of my best-selling book: One Less. One More. – The Ancient Practice for Discovering Purpose and Enduring Happiness. You won’t want to miss it.

Happiness isn’t luck.
It’s practice.
And we’re all in this together.

See what happens when you let go of what holds you back—and make space for what moves you forward.

One Less. One More.

Why I'm Here — And Why You Might Be Too

Hi, I'm Robbie Vorhaus—a storyteller, advisor, and seeker of what brings us meaning and purpose.

I'm a bestselling author, former journalist, communications and crisis strategist, university lecturer, and—most importantly—a devoted partner, father, and grandfather. I also serve as the founder and CEO of Lubbu, a next-generation lifetime gifting platform for Gen Z.

For over 30 years, I have been trusted by everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to aspiring leaders to guide them through defining moments, protect what matters most, and make choices that align with their values. I founded and led Vorhaus Communications, a nationally recognized communications firm in New York City where leaders and everyday heroes came to manage their reputations, respond to crises, and tell their stories with clarity and integrity.

Today, I continue to guide leaders, creators, and changemakers at every stage of life and leadership, providing grounded counsel, hard-won insight, and unwavering support through transformation, uncertainty, and reinvention.

Clients and collaborators have included Boston University School of Law, Buick, CBS News, Citibank, CNN, Coca-Cola, Domino's, Enel Group (Italy), General Motors, Harvard Business School, Heinz, Lyft, McDonald's, Pepsi, Pfizer, Raytheon Technologies, Rolling Stone Magazine, TaskRabbit, The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Air Force, Weight Watchers, Zipcar—and many more.

But this space isn't about resumes; it's about reflection, connection, and transformation.

I believe that the lifelong happiness we seek isn't found "out there." It's available now—if we're willing to adopt a simple, ancient practice: One Less. One More.

I live in Austin, Texas, with my wife and best friend, the contemporary artist Candace Connors Vorhaus. We are blessed with two wonderful married children, three beautiful grandchildren, and one irresistibly adorable Miniature Schnauzer named Ziggy. I proudly train in Seido Karate, practice organic gardening, and follow a heart-centered path of gratitude.

Thank you for being here. You are in the right place.

People

I'm just a regular guy with a narrow, although highly critical, skill set. Still, you'll want me in your corner when you need me. FYI, working with me is like drinking from a fire hose. But that's not a bad thing if you're on fire.
